In the recent years we have designed conceptual covers of new books and books that already exist, as a way of proving the difference that the cover of a book can make. Having a great book cover design is vital for any author who wants their book to be successful, this goes for every Indie author and for the big names you’d expect to see upon the New York Times Best Sellers list. The work of our team of designers in combination with the most renowned illustrators and photographers in the world, makes our main goal: to have the best designed and effective cover on the shelf. It’s common knowledge by now that readers shop with their eyes. They look for familiarity but simultaneously yearn for surprise. They want a book they can be proud to hold. So many books are published each year—a good book design must communicate that the pages within are worth a reader’s time and attention.

Formatum
Book Lab

After the concept of a book is developed, some projects receive the contribution of illustrators and photographers working together with our designers. For these cases, we created the “Formatum Book Lab” that has a network of more than 80 illustrators around the world and several photographers across Europe. “Formatum Book Lab” works to find the skills that best fit each project, managing the design of our internal team with the external production and adapting it to the budged of each project.
